Teaching and Learning Services @ Wendt Commons
The new Teaching and Learning Services (TLS) at Wendt Commons utilizes
a range of educational professionals to provide a single place to
connect faculty, instructors, and tutors with services and resources to
assist in creating, delivering, and evaluating engineering courses. The
TLS group includes information professionals from the library (liaison
librarians), learning technologists, IT professionals, and the college
assessment director. The Engineering Learning Services and Engineering
Media Services will both be integrated into the service offerings of the
TLS.
Course support services provided include the following:
- Pedagogical & Instructional Design Consultation and Support Services
- Drop-in service (4th floor in the new Wendt Commons), phone coverage (265-1178), and email support during regular business hours
- Development of on-line quizzing and other on-line
assignments and activities
- Integration of your existing grading practices to best
support course learning objectives
- Investigation of emerging teaching technologies within courses
- Teaching effectively with currently available technologies
- Integration of information and technology literacy skills
into courses
- Assistance with Course Development within the Course Management
System
- eCOW2 course creation and help
- Utilization of other campus resources, including but not
limited to: D2L, MyWebSpace Course Directories, Adobe Connect, and
Google Suite.
- Integration of Library Course Pages with eCOW2 or D2L
- Guidance on Use and Implementation of Rich Media and Other
Learning Technologies
- Teaching Improvement (TIP) and New Educator's Orientation (NEO)
- Assistance and Collaboration with proposals for innovative
Engineering Education grants
